Tests Directory · 8 October 2026
Pre-marital tests are not just a formality; they reassure both partners about their health and their children’s.
They include a blood count, blood group, viruses (hepatitis B, C and HIV), sugar and a screen for inherited anaemias such as thalassaemia.
Rh incompatibility does not prevent marriage, but knowing early lets the doctor protect a pregnancy with an injection at the right time.
Results are handed to each partner separately and confidentially, with a consultation to explain them.
