Pregnancy Blood Test (Beta hCG)

The pregnancy hormone (hCG) appears in the blood about 10 days after conception and roughly doubles every two days in early weeks.

Above 25 usually means pregnancy; 5–25 needs a repeat after 48 hours. Your doctor follows the numbers to check the pregnancy is progressing.
